The small schoolhouse in Newbury,Massachusetts,was the scene of strange phenomenon in 1870. Every day a mysterious yellow  glow spreed over the classroom, windows and blackboards.It usually started near the hall door and spreed silently over the room.After about two minutesit faded away.It did no harm while it cast its lights over the room,but afterward the students and the teacher,Miss Lucy A Perkins,felt week and ill. The yellow radiance was not the only unusual occurrence. It was accompanied by a gust of cold air that swept through the room, even when the doors are shut & windows where  tightlyclosed. The chill breeze rustledthe paper,swung the faded map on the wall and shook the hangingoil lamp.This too made the teacher and children feelslightly ill, but Miss Perkins kept the class going day after day,bravely trying to ignore the strange event.the late fall,the yellow light disappearand the low pitch laugh was heard.The eerie sound echoed in the schools tiny Attic, the small coal cellar and the hall.one day many of the students along with miss Perkins saw a child’shand floating in the air. then the arm came visible. the climax came on November  1. during  a geography lesson, miss Perkins called upon a student to recite. in  the midst of a sentence he suddenly stopped and pointed to the hall.There was a boy with his arm upraised.It was the same arm that was floating in the air earlier.
